Use rubber gloves to protect the electronic contact surfaces.
After the battery is removed, insert the new volvo key one into its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing upwards and that it is placed within all clips. Then slide the cover back down and towards the key-ring loop section until it loosens and then slides off. Then, remove the cover and reveal the mechanical key blade that is hidden within.
