Serving as casket bearers were Donald Nihsen, Robert Nihsen, Ronald Nihsen, John Nihsen, David Nihsen, and Rory Nihsen. Honorary casket bearers were Nick Nihsen and Gary Nihsen. Interment was held in the Minden Cemetery in Minden, Iowa. Mr. Nihsen passed away on Thursday, June 9th at the Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services for 86 year old Virgil Nicholas Nihsen of Avoca will be held on Monday, June 13th at 10:30am in the Minden United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Minden United Church of Christ. Survivors include his brother Harold (Erma) Nihsen of Shelby, Harley (Shirley) Nihsen of Minden, Paul (Judy) Nihsen of Minden, Grant (Lois) Nihsen of Crescent, Elden (Beth) Nihsen of Council Bluffs, and his sister in law LaVon Nihsen of Council Bluffs. The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca is in charge of the arrangements. PATRICIA LOUISE PEDERSEN, 71, of Harlan, died Fri, April 8th, at home.
