So you want to climb? In FRC a climb is an extremely common endgame condition for a robot. Since 2015 we have seen rope, bar, platform, and monkey bar climbs. There are many ways to climb for each of these and here is a list of some solutions with a playlist of teams that succeeded.

The best solutions were a splining bar with teeth that would grab the ropes and winch themselves up. Examples

Bar climbs are pretty common in FRC, it was the objective for the games in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021.

There are many ways teams have climbed to a bar, some of the most common are a telescoping arm (with winch), a scissor lift, and extenders.
